(2022, Collage Project) Due to growing up in a strict, Christian family; I wanted to explore out of this mindset by portraying Drag Queens and queer Filipinos in my art.

I specifically chose to use scans of the Barong (a traditional Filipino Men's outfit) to represent masculinity, whilst also still promoting feminine characteristics through the floral designs of the fabric. Taking inspiration from local Drag Queens on the Isle of Man, I created my own Drag Queen character. In addition to this, there is a yellow halo surrounding my character's head to act as the Philippine sun from the flag but to also represent Christianity and the acceptance of queer Filipinos.
Cyanotype Experiments
Using Acetate Sheets, both positive and negative prints on 300gsm Paper.
